Compiling some feats you can do once you hit 65. This is sorta also my goodbye post, so good luck everybody.
1) How to solo Drusella Sathir.
- You need IVU (innate a bonus), SOW, QVoX, Harmshield, 2 k plus hp (the more the merrier), Forceshield, Wand of Souls or Touch of Mujaki, Thrall of Bones, Skin of Shadow, Death Peace, any plus channeling helps too
- Zone In: You zone into HS, clear the 2 spawns at zone in and then look East. You will see 2 golems there and a stairway. The stairway is illusional, ie you cant run there. (Sowed, run3) Erudites and sowed medium races can run there by going invis to either the south or the North door and float up at the fireplaces there. Once you are above them, look exactly at the East Stairs you want to land on, then look up to the roof, so you only see the roof anymore. Run. You will be able to float to the East door with the 2 golems. Smaller races need either a wiz, enc friend (grav flux) or a summoning roamer up there. If the roamer which cmes around every 2 mins summons, you just root him and then he summons you up after some minor dottage.
If I had time (ie no race going on) I just cleared the zone in by thralling 1 of the 2 roamers and then killing, slowing other roamer and the 2 North and the 2 East Golems and the roamer. I could single pull the golems at 65.
-The way to Drusi: Assuming you are in front of the East door and roamer has been killed. The tapestry behind the golem spawns a golem once you move on it. It's a small trap, but no problem. Just pet kill him or root dot, dont let him go though. If you in a hurry and have innate IVU, you can also float there invis and then run over the tapestry with real invis and then just a moment before you enter the first room with 4 skellies innate ivu yourself (instacast). The trap will not be activated and the undeads in the room wont see you either. Then run through the picture and up the wall in the south east corner of the next pathway.
Then most mbs will be undead. Some might be bottomless crawlers though or in 5% the undeads see IVU. If no undead sees IVU you can basically move up in front of Drusis room (for a map go to allakhazam). If some see IVU you have to charm an undertaker skellie haste it and mow down the whole east place until no more seeIVU mobs are left or you killed all. Thrall of bones will work.
-Setup in front of Drusis room. There will be 2 roamers, mainly 1 undertaker and 1 another (undertaker, helot). Kill them with pet and undead slow or by charming one, not hasting it, then not slowing the other and let it attack the other with you sometimes throwing in dots. Once both are killed (attention some are SKs with 700 hp HT) get to full health, rebuff forceshield, make sure both Harmshield and QVoX are up and get your wand of souls or Touch of Mujaki up. You wont need more than 20 mana.
- The Kill.
According to normal wisdom darkness pulling isnt going to work, try it out, you will see why. Line of Sight is bugged for the mobs there and Drusi will cast on you.
So open just the door and wait until you can target Drusi, then CHARM her. Thrall of Bones will do it. When you have charmed her, she will atack her pet or 1 mortiferous golem, but you will get followed by 4 of the 5 mobs in the room.
Hit Harmshield. Then run the 4 mobs 2 times over Drusi attaking 1 mob, by the 2nd time all 5 mobs will be on her. Within 45 secs she will be at 5% health.
Get ready for Wand of souls or Mujaki. Its about timing, hit an instacast invis or innate IVU. Charm will break instantly with her being if timed right at 1 -2 %. Now chainclick the Wand of Souls (or ToMujaki 1x). If you did it correct, she will be dead within 2.7 secs, but be aware that 5 really angry mobs will hit you (HP, channeling 3, boots of stability are your friend). If you have a wand of souls you are almost gold as it is insta, if you need to use Touch of Mujaki stand near Drusi so you know wont get summoned and cast at once or wait after summon and cast then. If you are really unlucky now you die, but I didnt die that often.
- The Looting: Once your ToMujaki or the wand clicks have killed Drusi, instantly cast QVoX. Loot up.
- The Byebyes: Then run to the hallway corner, out of the room. You will get summoned 2 x. Dont worry just continue to run. You have to make it to the corner so your Death Peace wont be interrupted by pushing. Then FD. After successfull FD, /quit. Log back in, gate.
If you need to race to Drusi, just have your 2 Harmshields up and then float over invis, then innate IVU as long as possible. If some mob sees you just run thru it, hit Harmshield and then run to the corner of the hallway in front of Drusis room and do a well timed FD (some mobs are casters, some SKs, you need to avoid the :You are no longer feigning death because a spell hit you message. If you want to make sure of that wait around 6 secs within all the mobs until they have all wasted their arsenal on your Harmshield, then run with SOW speed to the corner and feign).
Killing Drusi that way is the most rushing experience I had, so if you have time to practice, try it. It's great fun.
2) Killing unsnareable, non-summoning PoP Mobs without charm
Its actually rather easy, you need an area were you can kite the mob, Tuch of Mujaki and SOW speed (of a 60 shammie or potion) or a Horse.
- You will see that with Seduction of Saryrn you will be faster regaining mana than ToM costs you it, thus you will be downing the mob in time.
- An advanced strat is the use of a pet: Pet taunt off, pet guard here, attack mob with dots like CoC, let pet hit mob once so its n the agro list, FD away from pet, now mob will run to attack pet, once it's outta range, stand up, pile dots now when mob is again running for you, then once it's near again FD, mob runs to pet.... continue like that until mob is dead.
3.) How to kill summoning mobs, max 300 hitters
Legacy of Zek with 64 pet heal Touch of death can outtank those. Mending and Suspend pet for a 2nd pet will help the odds on close fights (Lodizal).
4.) How to kill summoning, snareable mobs (600 to 700 hitters max)
- Have rogue pet up, no taunt and forceshield on yourself
- Cast Embracing Darkness, Splurt, CoC, Saryrns Kiss on mob
- now you will get summoned
- Just run outta the snared mobs range he will only be able to hit you for 1 round and cast Touch of Mujaki on the snared mob
- you get summoned again, run again, ToM again...
- continue until mob is dead
5.) How to kill snareable 600 hitters but nuking mobs
- Always have Kiss & Snare on them, root, then wait for nuke to land on you, ToM and apply dots in between. (Non summoners)
- Do the snare strategy as listed above and have magic ice resists in the range of 150-200. Time your ToMs so they replenish hp lost due to nukes. Fire resist is rarer tested by mobs (PoP mobs like rock storms will cast Shock of Magic and Lure of E'ci) . (Summoners)
6.) Old World Zones your 61 pet and you at 65 with 64 pet heal can solo at ease (actually almost all)
WW dragons (Some like Hachaeva and Gafala are easily fearable, Yeldema should be pet tanked as she has high magic resist, the others also pet tanked), Sirens Grotto , Umbral plains, PoG, PoF, PoA 1st island.
7.) Tanking:
Stepping in for an almost down pet and chaining ToMs will let a decent hp equipped necro tank for around 30 to 1 min secs, ie doing5 to 10 k damage and setting of 5 to 10 k hp.
A good strat is to open with kiss, heal pet, if you see mobs kills pet faster than pet can be healed, stacking some dots until pet is at 15 %, step in, start tanking and chaining ToMs.
High channeling, combat agility and lightning reflexes help a lot for casting. The AC boni innate defense and combat stability do a LOT less as casters defense is nerfed a lot compared to warriors and the like so get these boni first.
8.) The concept of indirect aggro - the other use of root and mezz
If you root a mob, he will be directly aggroed. The mobs which are in his shout-for-help range though will only be indirecly aggroed.
Now the beauty of that lies in the fact that indirectly aggroed mobs dont pass aggro over to other mobs by itself. That means, for example at ally chardok faction, you can single pull the Herbalist and after some clearings of his room also the Arch inspector solo to exit. The diretly agroed mob wont charge after you once mezz or root is off, if you are our of his range.
That means basically root a mob next to the one you want, the ndirectly aggroed target mob will follow you, while the roted mob will stay at his place. Run. IF root doesnt break before you are outta his range, the mob will not follow you afte root has worn off and you will have your target mob solo with you. Root the mob at remote location and depose at will.
That's the way how to kill any Chardok named (some can also be pet tanked) or some Cazic thule (like sewers) mobs.
9.) The Necro in groups post PoP
You are a damage class, 60 to 65 dps rogue pet, neurotoxin, fneral pyre, epic, CoC, Saryrns Kiss, ToM.
In a perma-pulling environment you will net about 130 perma dps, with small pull breaks close to 180 -200 dps forever. A direpet like in HoHA or POV will up the ante by close to 30 perma dps, maybe 40.
Your 2nd job is to root park the adds. Petrifying Earth is IMO the best root thats out there. It is a mini lure, thus the root-check every tick will almost always go out in its favor. So PE, then epic, doom or embracing to control up to 5 pulls. No biggie.
Do use Affliction Efficiency IV, Extended Affliction 3 or 4, spell haste 4 and Direct damage bracer 4. These toys will up your output a lot and help with rooting etc.
The best items are Sharp claw Ahlspiess fo AE IV(untel dak in PON, can be killed with 1 group), bone-clasped girdle of dracoliche (will come to bazaar sooner or later) or shackles of torment (Tradeskill secondary from POTorment), for SH 4 and DD bracer I recommend mage items. Also add earring f you think it really does save mana on dds. In groups you will have buffs so replace your hp equipment with these. It will greatly add your play. If you have seduction of saryrn, use a horse and you will make 75 hp a tick. Due to the Luclin Horse bugs, if xping and you dont need the perfect graphic, turn
ALL MODELS OFF incl horse. That will allow you to move unhindered and net 75 mana/tick through the lich line outdoors.
If you feel bored, get buffs and start some pulling. You have basically the sama abilities as monks, except their FD recast is a lot better as they can fd even when stunned. Nevertheless a channeling 3 and combat aa necro can channel a Death peace through up to 6 mobs hitting him so don't be worried. You are a great puller, but nowadays a lot better in damage. So your choice P.
10.) The Necro in the Trials
Get all buffs, get infusion up. let the first mob mainly go down through melee, then nuke heavy on mobs 2 to 4 of each wave. Mainly use neurotoxin and mix in toM for HP regen or fast dd.
For end mob, swap out the dd spells for your dots. let the tank kite it until all have fm again or if thats not possible, just attack and hope your damage is good enough. A lifeburn at the end is neat.
Necros, Mages and Wizzies, coupled with a skilled bard are the best damage classes for the trials bare none. Cleric for heals, warrior for tanking, thats the optimal party for the exe trial.
11.) The best xp at 65
POStorms : the frogs (Without charm) 1 aa 45 mins
Crypt of Decay: Charming (word of terris) the Corrupted Knight and killing the dead side 1 aa 15 to 20 mins
12.) The best place to get runes:
PoTactics Arena, they drop of the named boars and the wraith. 1 rune around every 3 hour atm. The mobs there can be killed by root-dotting, but you should be fast.
The PoTactics key is soloable by killing Diaku Raiders in the PoStorms Desert, they are snareable and don't summon. 1 in 4 is a shammie, so be ready for some nukes.
Might be I have forgotten something, but I guess thats it. Don forget to jump in the Hole once (you can survive by casting Harmshield immediately after zone in, not before zoning) and make sure Yael isnt up. You can solo easily at the undeadtower with direcharm or 54 charm.
Good luck in EQ, make the best outta it.
