Part of the Berserker 1.5 involves taking Taelosian Mountain Tea (droppable on FV, No Drop on other servers) and Sacred Water (droppable on FV, No Drop on other servers) and brewing it to make "Taelosian Tea Extract."
It took me way more time than I care to admit to finally get the components. Well, my Berserker isn't particularly good at brewing, so I gave the droppable/tradable components to an alt (Nashwan) who could brew. No problem, right? Wrong. While the components are tradable the result is No Drop on FV. Doh! So now Nashwan has 4 x Taelosian Tea Extract, which is completely useless to him, but quite important for Dradar's epic.
So I submit a petition. I also submit one from Nashwan confirming what the berserker says. I have screenshots of each response, but it goes like this...
Response #1: "Your berserker already has some of the Tea and Water." Yes, I had some extra. So? So I repetition.
Response #2: "It is against our policy to transfer No Drop items from one character to another."
Umm... I'm not asking that you transfer No Drop items. I'm asking that you give me back the ingredients, which were NOT No Drop. So I petition again.
Response #3: "The result is supposed to be No Drop. This isn't an error. It was supposed to happen."
And I was supposed to know that... how exactly? The components were droppable. The NPC gives no indication like, "This part you'll have to do yourself." There was no reason to believe the result would be No Drop.
So I petition again. This time I don't say what it's about, but I just ask for a GM who is familiar with the FV ruleset.
Jarning tells you, "Greetings Dradar. This is GM Jarning in response to your petition concerning lost items issue."
I refer him to the previous petitions (always write down the numbers, btw).
Jarning tells you, "How did he combine these items?"
Jarning tells you, "With any augment?"
Huh? Wtf? Tea + Water = Extract. What's this about augments? But anyway...
The conversation goes on. I have the screenshots of how utterly useless this guy is. Basically, his claim is that everything happened as intended and therefore they owe me no reimbursement. I said it was "confusing" since there was no way of knowing the result would be No Drop, but he insists there's no confusion involved. But let me highlight one part of our long conversation.
I told him that there was no way I should have expected the result would be No Drop. Sony screwed up on the FV ruleset by making the ingredients tradable but not the result, and there's no indication given by Sony that should have warned me of the result. To that, he says:
So there you have it folks. When Sony screws up, it's a "thrill" feature
Next time GH isn't working... it's a THRILL feature! Next time you lose an item, it's just all part of the thrill of the game! Next time you lose a Quest item because you needed Ally faction, not just Warmly, and no indication was given to let you know ahead of time... rest assured, it was intended that way. It's all part of the thrill of the game.
