If the people of a state want to pay extra taxes for healthcare it is their own prerogative, but the Feds need to stay out of it. There is no pork in their bill, no bribing of other States' Senators, the fine for not having health insurance is just a loss of tax deductions and the people of Massachusetts are already anesthetized to high taxes. All they really did in Massachusetts is shift the burden from one accounting ledger to another if one thinks about it.
