Tich I think your logic may have a few flawed facts.

light typically refers to the visible portion of the magnetic spectrum.

Infrared and ultraviolet "light" are forms of radiation sometimes called light but not usually visible to humans.

In order for a human to see their surroundings there must be a "light source"(ie: flashlight) to generate the visible radiation and objects that reflect some of the visible radiation. The eye itself is just a receiver that is sensitive to the visible spectrum of energy that enters it.

(Side note: Colors of objects are actually the result of what wave lengths are absorbed or reflected.)
