Well ... no ... my personal opinion here, your CHARACTER doesn't know until it's too late. But player to player, there should be some respect. Having linked your character to mine, you now have to realise that your character's story affects mine. Ideally, you'd have let me know before proposing marriage that you intend to RP a cheating spouse, but if not, I think you do owe it to me the player to warn me in advance that you're about to make my character's RP story take an unexpected turn in a direction I was not expecting. It's only considerate.

If PoTallonar suddenly decides it's vitally important to his RP that Tallonar cheats on Didi, I'm fine with that (as a player) but I would certainly expect that he would warn me the player in advance, seeing as Didi's 50 year marriage would be about to end chaotically and I'd drastically have to change her comfortable little family story and her behaviour quite significantly. Just common courtesy and respect for another player.
