Regardless of Aunor's fanaticism, he raises a good question regarding the GOP. They've been pounded in the '06 and '08 elections, and there aren't a whole lot of vulnerable Dems at this point in '10 (of course that's a looong ways away and mid-terms are generally tough for the incumbent party).

Question is, will the Republican party successfully regain their reputation as fiscal conservatives? Or will they pound away at these social issues that only serve to alienate the younger electorate and the more centrist conservatives? Both...neither?

Quite honestly, it's hard to tell what a Republican "is" anymore.
